Google’s Real Time – It’s Really Time To Blog & Tweet

Have you noticed the new Google? Sometimes you get “Latest Results” when you search. That’s because on December 11, 2009 Google launched real-time results as part of their search service. This is the biggest change for Google in years and will have resounding impact.  If you’ve been wondering how to boost your ranking to get to the top of the page, only to see you’ve sunk “below the fold” in the new results, you’re feeling the brunt of this new Google search.

So why are you sinking? How do you get to the top of the screen again? Latest Results pick up references to you or your business name not only on websites but in the new media and networking sites.  Design to Spec has Tips that will improve your position in the “new” Google.

  1. Get a Blog. If you don’t  have a blog. Get one. Be sure your blog entries reference the name of you or your businesses as these are searchable words and will get picked up in the Latest Results for you or your business. Wouldn’t it be nice to have some control to bring positive, customer influencing content to the search results? Well, you can do that with your blog entries.
  2. Join Twitter. If you’ve delayed joining Twitting thinking “Twitter’s for kids” or that you’ll never find the time to “tweet”, then you are missing a powerful force that ties directly to what will be seen in the Latest Results. Google’s own press release shows how what is said about you in Twitter will now be picked up in the Latest Results. These results aren’t delayed by a robot searching for your website, but appear almost immediately in “real-time.” It’s to your advantage to create your own business tweets as well as monitor what others are tweeting about you.
  3. Add Frequency. Did I mention that Latest Results are in “real-time”? Of course I did. That’s because now everyone will see how often you blog, how often you “tweet”.  If you are complacent and fall into the world of “Stationary  Marketing” (a lapse in blogging and “tweeting”) your inactivity will become obvious. If you aren’t managing your online marketing and PR you will succumb to the last kind words someone else posted about you or worse a prolonged spell of negative comments displayed under your search result in Google.

You can no longer afford to be on the sidelines. It’s really time to blog and tweet.

Let’s get started! Design to Spec can not only get you set  up to start blogging and tweeting, we can create a full pantry of content to keep you going!  http://designtospec.com/contact.html
