Light Phone is a real u-turn back to the olden days when a phone was just a phone. What’s next? A light car (perhaps it will involve a horse). Maybe the next step for refrigerators is the return of the ice man! Actually a phone that takes pride in being just a phone has a very Zen-ness to it after all the promo video talks about leaving all the other “add-ons” behind to live in the moment.
I really love this idea. Just turning off the electronics and having an app-free day is a really good idea. However I’m not sold on buying yet another device– another material item seems not so Zen. Yup, this is not a stand on its own device– you’ll still need your smart phone. So Light Phone, now you’ll have TWO phones.
I think I’ll stick with what I’ve got. A little self control with the power-off button works just fine. OHM….
