As of October 1, 2009 Design to Spec stopped the resale of hosting services. Why? The bottom line is always the clients.
Reselling hosting connects clients through the reseller’s account. The expectation is that with a larger number of customers that the hosting service will provide excellent service and perks to keep the business. The downside is when the hosting service can’t meet expectation or loses their zeal for customer service then all clients suffer.
Technology services are competitive: pricing deals and extra services add value to hosting packages. It can save website costs to have the ability to move to a new hosting company – the nimbleness t0 move to another host is lost when tied to a reseller account, or at least made more difficult.
