No one likes a saggy bottom. Unfortunately, when importing text to WordPress from MS Word bloggers can end up with some unsightly, huge white spaces at the end of their blog posts. Even if you’re a newbie blogger you can diagnose and fix these gaps.
How to Diagnose
Login to your WordPress dashboard. Go “edit” the post that has this issue. Click the HTML tab at top of the editing box. Scroll down to the bottom of the post. It’s likely you’ll see “ ” which is the HTML code for create space.
How to Fix
If only every saggy bottom was this easy to fix! Highlight the “ ” HTML code and all the space in between. Then press your computer’s delete key. Don’t forget to press the blue “update” button in WordPress to save your update.
How to Prevent
You can prevent the extra bottom space while still working in MS Word. When copying the text you’ve created in Word, take care not to copy beyond the last letter of the last word of your post. If you do copy more of the page, you’ll be pasting additional white space into your post. Take special care in copying (that means avoid copying the entire document) when you see there are additional Word pages beyond the end of the post.
